Pallets · Pavers, edging & sand

Pavers, edgestones and paver sand in Yakima

Panorama, Plaza, Holland and Victorian pavers, Venetian driveway stone, edgestones and scalloped edging, plus the nails, Snap Edge and Polysweep that keep a paver patio tight.

Chapter 01

Pavers on the pallet, from circle packs to driveway stone

The paver pallets at the yard run Panorama flagstone pavers and Panorama pavers, the Plaza stone circle pack and Plaza pavers, Holland pavers, the Vintage Victorian, a 16 inch square Brickface in red, and Venetian driveway stone for the spot that has to take a truck.

We stock Willamette Graystone and Keystone Hardscapes, so you can lay two paver lines side by side and judge the colour and texture in daylight before you buy a whole patio of either.

Why paver sand washes out, and what holds it

Most patios that lose their joint sand lose it two ways. Rain and sprinklers carry it out of the joints, and the pavers shift at the edges, which opens the joints wider. Both problems start where the paving stops.

That is why the yard sells the pieces of the fix together: nails, Snap edge and Polysweep. Typically the edge restraint goes in first, spiked into the base, and the Polysweep goes into the joints once the surface is down and swept clean.

If your sand keeps washing away, bring a photo of the patio and tell us what the joints look like. We will tell you which of the three you are missing.

Chapter 03

Edgestones that finish where the pavers stop

A paver field needs something to stop against. The yard stocks grey edgestones, charcoal edgestones and a red scalloped edge, so the border can match the pavers or contrast with them.

Edgers also keep gravel, bark and lawn from creeping onto the patio, which means less sweeping later. Most people pick the edger last, so check the colour against your pavers while you are standing in the yard.

Soracco, 31 W Washington Ave, Yakima. Open to the public since 2008.

Pavers · The problem at the joints

Tired of sand between your pavers washing away?

A patio like this one, finished at dusk with a lit fire pit, a cedar pergola and block seat walls, only stays this tidy if its joints stay full. Three things on our pallets keep them that way.

Pick up the nails, the Snap edge and the Polysweep with the pavers, so the whole job comes off one pallet run.

  1. 01

    Nails

Spike the edge restraint into the base so the border cannot drift when the pavers take weight.

  2. 02

    Snap edge

The restraint that runs along the outside of the patio and holds the whole field of pavers in place.

  3. 03

    Polysweep

Swept into the joints after the pavers are down. In the yard's own words: Polysweep will stabilize your sand.
