Concrete trailer, stamp and tool rental in Yakima

Tow-behind concrete trailers, stamp texture skin sets and rental tools from the yard at 31 W Washington Ave.

Chapter 01

Match the trailer to the truck before you leave the driveway

A cubic yard of concrete weighs roughly two tons, which is why our trailer rules start with your tow vehicle and only then get to your project. The 1 yd trailer needs at least a 1/2 ton pickup, and the 1 3/4 yd trailer needs a 3/4 ton. Loads run from a quarter yard up to 1 3/4 yards, and there is no bumper pull: you need a 2 inch ball and a 4 prong flat plug.

You will also need a valid driver's license and current proof of insurance. The full checklist is on this page so nothing surprises you at the gate. The rental carries a $150 trailer deposit, with 2 hours of rental time included and $25 an hour after that.

The concrete itself is priced by the trailer load, from a quarter yard up. Those prices are on our concrete page.

Stamp texture skins and rental tools, priced at the counter

Beyond trailers, the yard rents two things: a stamp texture skin set and rental tools. Both are priced on the rental counter ticket on this page. The yard lists these and nothing else for rent, so ask before assuming a particular tool or machine is available.

Stamps rent as texture skin sets. The patterns we stock, from Majestic Ashlar to Windrose, are listed on the decorative concrete page, and color, release and sealer come off the same shelf.

Rental tools are priced as one line. Tell us the job and we will tell you which tools are available for it. We provide color, stamps, tools, forms, sealers and the knowledge to make your project a success.

Chapter 03

Plan the pour around the rental clock, not the other way round

Two hours of rental time is included, and every hour after that is $25. It sounds generous until the concrete is in the trailer and the forms are not ready. Set the forms, compact the base and line up your helpers first, so the rental time is spent placing and finishing.

Weather matters too. Hot days shorten the time you have to work the surface and cold days slow the set, so check the forecast and ask about admixtures when you order. Hours also depend a lot on the weather, so if it is questionable, call before you drive out.

The yard is open Monday to Friday 7 am to 4 pm and Saturday 7 am to 3 pm from March 15 to October 31. From November through mid-March, call (509) 469-3836 before you come down: the yard runs on appointments over the winter.

Soracco, 31 W Washington Ave, Yakima. Open to the public since 2008. Saturdays included.
